Job Summary
- The Hotel Cashier is responsible for handling all financial transactions within the hotel, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining accurate records of all transactions.
- This role requires attention to detail, strong numerical skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Handling Transactions:
- Process guest payments, including cash, credit/debit cards, and other forms of payment.
- Ensure accuracy in billing, refunds, and exchanges.
- Handle foreign currency exchange, if applicable.
Guest Services:
- Assist guests with inquiries about charges or payment processes.
- Provide a seamless check-out experience, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
Cash Management:
- Reconcile cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts.
- Prepare daily cash reports and deposit summaries.
- Address and report discrepancies immediately.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of transactions in line with hotel policies.
- Prepare and submit shift summaries to the finance team.
Compliance and Security:
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and standards related to cash handling.
- Safeguard cash and sensitive payment information from theft or fraud.
- Comply with local financial regulations and taxation policies.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with the front desk, reservations, and accounting departments.
- Assist with financial audits as required.
Key Qualifications
- Proven experience as a cashier, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and hotel management software.
- Basic accounting knowledge and strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in handling cash and balancing cash drawers.
