  • A Hotel Kitchen Assistant supports the smooth operation of the kitchen by performing various tasks, including food preparation, cleaning, and assisting chefs and kitchen staff.

  • This role ensures high standards of cleanliness, organization, and efficiency in the kitchen environment.



Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation:




  • Assist in basic food preparation such as peeling, chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients.

  • Prepare simple dishes under the supervision of the chef, such as salads, sandwiches, or desserts.



Cleaning and Hygiene:




  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils.

  • Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen tools.

  • Adhere to hygiene and sanitation standards to ensure food safety.



Stock and Inventory Management:




  • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and kitchen supplies.

  • Assist in receiving, unpacking, and storing food deliveries while ensuring proper rotation of stock.



Support to Chefs and Kitchen Staff:




  • Assist in plating and presentation of dishes during service.

  • Provide timely support during busy service hours, ensuring smooth kitchen operations.



Compliance with Safety Standards:




  • Follow safety protocols for handling kitchen tools, equipment, and hot surfaces.

  • Report any maintenance issues or hazards to the supervisor promptly.



Other Duties:




  • Assist in organizing events or catering preparation if required.

  • Perform additional tasks assigned by the chef or kitchen supervisor.



Qualifications and Skills




  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment is an advantage but not mandatory.

  • Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen hygiene.

  • Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.

  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.

  • Candidates should possess an OND with 1 - 3 years experience.
