Job Summary

The Mechanical Maintenance Officer is responsible for the installation and performance of maintenance activities on a wide variety of mechanical machinery and equipment, including generators, compressors, pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, machine tools, conveyors and other mechanical systems.

JobDescription

• Performance of preventive and corrective maintenance services on diesel engine generators (between 100KVA to 1000KVA range)


• Troubleshooting and repair of reciprocating engine compressors and screw compressors in the 7.5h.p, 10h.p, 50h.p etc range.


• Performance of tasks which include replacing worn compressors, lubricating gears, motors, pumps and mechanical moving forks, changing dull tools, calibrating instruments, replacing filters, gears, valves, tubes and cables, etc.


• Performance of possible inspections on plant, machinery and equipment.


• Documentation of maintenance activities.


• Performance of other duties as may be assigned by the maintenance manager.

MinimumQualifications

• BSC/HND in mechanical engineering from a reputable tertiary institution.


• Knowledge of CAT diesel generators is an added advantage.


• Knowledge of Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machines and equipment is highly desired.


• Ability to troubleshoot electrical faults using test probes, multi mentors etc.


• Computer literate.


• Good written and verbal communication skills.


• Minimum of 4 – 5 years experience.
