Job Summary




  • The Head of Finance Operations will oversee the financial operations of CIG Motors Company Limited, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes.

  • This role involves managing day-to-day financial activities, implementing financial policies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

  • The Head of Finance Operations will work closely with other departments to support financial planning, reporting, and decision-making.



Key Responsibilities

Financial Management:




  • Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions and reconciliations.

  • Manage cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs.



Financial Reporting:




  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS.

  • Conduct financial analysis and provide reports to senior management.

  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting.



Budgeting and Forecasting:




  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.

  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.

  • Support strategic planning and decision-making with financial insights.



Compliance and Internal Controls:




  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and accounting standards.

  • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.

  • Liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies during audits and inspections.



Process Improvement:




  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in financial operations.

  • Automate and streamline financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Collaborate with IT to maintain and upgrade financial systems and tools.



Team Leadership:




  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance operations team.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.

  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the finance team and with other departments.



Qualifications and Experience




  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA).

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in finance operations or a related role.

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and Nigerian financial regulations.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Sage 300, SAP).

  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyze complex financial data.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
