Job Description
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver lessons in food and nutrition, home management, and related subjects, following the curriculum guidelines.
- Use a variety of teaching methods, including practical demonstrations, group work, and multimedia resources to enhance student learning.
- Teach food science, nutrition, health education, meal planning, food safety, and hygiene.
- Develop and assess student understanding through assignments, tests, projects, and practical work.
- Maintain records of students’ progress and provide feedback to students and parents.
Practical Sessions:
- Supervise students during practical food preparation and cooking lessons.
- Ensure safety standards and proper food hygiene practices are adhered to in practical sessions.
- Oversee students in the use of kitchen appliances, cooking tools, and laboratory equipment.
Classroom Management:
- Establish and enforce clear expectations for student behavior, creating a positive and productive learning environment.
- Support and encourage students’ academic, social, and emotional development.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
Assessment & Reporting:
- Design and implement assessments to evaluate students' progress in both theoretical and practical skills.
- Provide regular feedback to students on their performance.
- Write detailed reports on students’ progress and areas for improvement.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences to discuss students' achievements and challenges.
Professional Development & Collaboration:
- Stay updated with the latest developments in food and nutrition education, teaching methods, and curriculum changes.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree with 4 - 5 years experience.
