Job Summary




  • A gateman ensures the safety and security of a property by controlling access, monitoring movement, and maintaining order at entry and exit points. This role requires vigilance, professionalism, and excellent communication skills.



Key Responsibilities

Access Control:




  • Monitor and control the entry and exit of individuals, vehicles, and goods.

  • Check identification, visitor logs, or access passes as required.

  • Deny unauthorized access and report suspicious activities immediately.



Security Monitoring:




  • Conduct regular checks around the premises to ensure security.

  • Observe and report any unusual behavior or security breaches.

  • Operate surveillance equipment or alarms if available.



Visitor Management:




  • Welcome and direct visitors or guests politely and professionally.

  • Record visitor details in a logbook or digital system.

  • Provide directions or assistance to visitors when necessary.



Gate and Property Maintenance:




  • Ensure gates and barriers are functional and secure at all times.

  • Keep the gate area clean and organized.

  • Report any damage to property, gates, or security equipment.



Communication:




  • Liaise with management, security personnel, or law enforcement in case of emergencies.

  • Notify appropriate personnel about deliveries, maintenance crews, or contractors.

  • Maintain clear and concise communication through phones, radios, or intercoms.



Emergency Response:




  • Respond promptly to alarms or emergencies, such as fire, theft, or accidents.

  • Assist in evacuations or other emergency procedures when necessary.



Key Skills and Attributes
