My client is a leading African multi-channel media, entertainment, and data company, headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. As a technology marketplace, they creates jobs for "nano-creators/influencers" and celebrity personalities alike by connecting them to brands, creative agencies, research companies, and NGOs. Help brands maximize ROI on their marketing spend through a vast creators/influencers network, powered by a proprietary software platform.They are in need of a SENIOR DATA SCIENTIST.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES.

• You will lead the analysis and insights generation process across the organization’s most important products and initiatives.


• Work on translating large datasets into actionable insights.


• You’ll perform data analysis, modelling, and hypothesis testing, A/B testing to steer the organization’s decision-making.


• Use data and insights to drive action from stakeholders.


• You’ll discover insights from the data and propose solutions to fix them or devise experiments to understand the issues better.


• You’ll contribute to the work of the data & product teams to better understand the user and product experiences, and use data to improve them.


• You’ll work with the business intelligence team to determine useful metrics that need to be tracked, and help to create stunning visualizations to disseminate the trends in the data.

JOB REQUIREMENT.

• 4+ years of experience in a similar data science role


• Minimum bachelor's degree in quantitative fields such as statistics, mathematics, computer science, physics, and engineering (Master’s highly desirable).


• Demonstrated ability to perform detailed data analysis and guide strategy with findings.


• Advanced proficiency in at least one of the following: Python, R, SPSS


• Advanced proficiency in Excel is a given.


• Experience with data wrangling and cleaning of large datasets


• Advanced knowledge of statistical and machine learning techniques (regression, decision trees, clustering, neural networks, etc.)


• Some hands-on experience with writing SQL.


• Strong people skills, team orientation, and a professional attitude


• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.


• A high level of commercial awareness is highly desirable.
