About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting & Controls Manager to lead accurate financial reporting and governance processes for our Nigeria operations. The ideal candidate will oversee the consolidation of financial performance, statutory reporting, and balance sheet management, while ensuring strong governance, compliance, and process improvements. This is a leadership role managing a team of six, requiring a strategic thinker with exceptional attention to detail and strong technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the consolidation and reporting of Nigeria’s financial performance, including monthly, quarterly, and annual results within specified deadlines.


• Review and analyze monthly performance, raising queries and providing insights where necessary.


• Compile and manage statutory reporting processes in line with required timelines.


• Own the annual audit process as the main point of contact for external auditors and statutory audit committees.


• Oversee the GL Chart of Accounts, ensuring accurate transaction processing and balance reporting.


• Manage the balance sheet to identify and mitigate financial risks.


• Own and manage relationships with the Shared Services Center for R2R (Record-to-Report) activities, ensuring on-time, in-full (OTIF) completion.


• Ensure compliance with internal controls and identify solutions for non-compliance issues.


• Drive continuous improvements in processes, systems, and reporting quality.


• Provide technical accounting advice to business stakeholders and operational teams.


• Support and advise operations on reporting systems, ensuring smooth processes.


• Manage and develop a team of brewery controllers to achieve accurate and timely financial reporting.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.


• Professional qualifications such as ICAN, ACCA, or CFA are required.


• A minimum of 8 years of Accounting & Financial Reporting experience in a reputable organization.


• Strong knowledge and practical application of IFRS.


• Demonstrated understanding of Nigeria’s financial reporting environment and tax climate (tax expertise not required but ability to manage a Tax Manager is essential).


• Experience leading a team, with a proven ability to mentor and develop talent.
