Job Description
We're recruiting to fill the role of a Pharmacy Technician. This role is responsible for dispensing medications, packaging prescriptions and providing excellent counseling for the patients seen at our clinics. The pharmacy technician will also be responsible for maintaining adequate stocks of medications and ensuring medications are stored to preserve their quality.
Responsibilities
- Providing friendly and attentive customer service is paramount. Handle tickets/ escalations raise by the customer care team, answer inquiries, and direct them to appropriate team or personnel.
- Assisting in managing prescription orders. This involves data entry tasks such as creating new prescriptions, updating patient information, updating already created prescriptions, updating the statuses of prescriptions, and other relevant tasks.
- Maintaining adequate stock levels of medications and other pharmaceutical products. This includes monitoring inventory, restocking shelves, and alerting the pharmacist and pharmacy technician when stock levels are low.
- Providing administrative support to the pharmacy team, which may include filing paperwork, organizing records, and managing incoming and outgoing correspondence.
- Coordinating with suppliers and service providers is crucial for efficient pharmacy operations. You will manage relationships with vendors, place orders, track deliveries, and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Working closely with pharmacists, other pharmacy technicians, doctors, nurses and customer care staff to ensure smooth operations and provide excellent customer service
Requirements
- Certificate of Pharmacy Technician is compulsory.
- Registration with the Board of Pharmacy and current practicing license as a Pharmacy Technician is required.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Ability to process prescriptions electronically and ensure all information is accurate and complete.
- Ability to provide patient counselling (advising in multiple relevant languages is a plus).
- Familiarity with and ability to use technological tools including Microsoft Office suite of products and inventory software.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Ability to communicate medical concepts in clear layman language.
- Supply and inventory management skills.
- Good knowledge of dispensing commonly prescribed medication
