Job Summary/ Key Responsibilities




  • Dispensing Medications- Accurately preparing and dispensing prescribed medications to patients.

  • Patient Counseling- Providing guidance on medication use, potential side effects, and interactions.

  • Health Screening Services- Offering services like blood pressure monitoring, blood glucose testing, and cholesterol checks.

  • Inventory Management- Ensuring an adequate stock of medications and other pharmacy products while preventing overstock or expiry.

  • Over-the-Counter (OTC) Recommendations- Advising customers on suitable OTC medications for minor ailments and self-care.

  • Health Promotion and Education- Educating patients about wellness topics, such as smoking cessation, nutrition, and vaccination.

  • Prescription Review and Validation- Verifying the appropriateness of prescriptions to ensure patient safety.

  • Supervising Pharmacy Staff- Leading and mentoring pharmacy technicians, assistants, and other staff members.

  • Maintaining Regulatory Complianc- Ensuring that all activities meet regulatory requirements and standards.

  • Managing Minor Ailments- Assisting patients with non-prescription treatments for common conditions, like colds or allergies.

  • They assist in preparing prescriptions, maintaining patient records, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations.



Key Responsibilities




  • Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.

  • Prepare prescription orders, including counting, pouring, and labeling medications.

  • Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed.

  • Maintain patient records and update information in the pharmacy database.

  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients, doctors, and other healthcare providers.

  • Process insurance claims and assist with billing and payment transactions.

  • Perform administrative tasks, such as filing, organizing prescriptions, and maintaining a clean workspace.

  • Follow all pharmacy laws, regulations, and safety protocols.



Requirement




  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree / B.Pharm qualification with 2 - 5 years work experience.
