- The Research Analyst is to assist in improving the operations and decision-making of the Company’s business. Also. Perform research, collect and analyze, interpret data/ information, and use the data to problem solve and improve the decision-making and efficiency of the Company’s business. Study the data and present recommendations to the leadership team.
Summary of Duties & Responsibilities
- Write and publish Quarterly and Year-End Market reports, Macro-Economic Analysis.
- Compile Advisory reports and make informed recommendations on new investment opportunities and funds that could enhance or diversify portfolios.
- Meet with and provide information including summaries of research, investment ideas, key events from the preceding day as well as key drivers for the day ahead.
- Assist in the compilation and publication of Daily Market Update, Business Headlines, and publication of Companies results amongst others.
- Perform valid and reliable SWOT analysis, interpret data, formulate reports and make recommendations.
- Analyze past operations' results and performing variance analyses.
- Identify and analyze trends and forecasts and recommend improvements to the business processes.
- Research market trends, conduct surveys, analyze data from competitors, and analyze the business's operations, expenditures, and customer retention to identify patterns of potential issues or improvements.
- Organize and store data for future research projects.
Educational Qualifications and Work Experience
- University Degree / HND in Accounting, Statistics, Finance, Economics or related field.
- Relevant professional qualification e.g., CIS or Master's degree will be an added advantage.
- 3-4 years cognate experience in Capital Market research/or Capital Market Operations.
Minimum Competency and Skills Requirements:
- Experience in applied market research or data management.
- Strong mathematical, statistical, analytical and data modeling skills.
- The ability to manipulate large, complex data sets into manageable, understandable reports.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team-working skills.
- Familiarity with data modeling software and Excel software.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent understanding of the Nigerian Financial Market.
- Excellent knowledge of statistical packages and databases;
- Understanding of various debt and equity financing structures.
- Understanding of basic accounting statements such as Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Income Statement.
- Adequate knowledge of data collection methods both primary and secondary. Highly skilled with other MS Office.
