- Our client, a leading multinational company in the FMCG sector headquartered in Lagos, is seeking an experienced Demand Planner to
- join its sales and distribution team. The role is pivotal in ensuring accurate demand forecasting, optimizing inventory, and aligning supply
- chain processes to meet business objectives within the wholesale channel.
Job Description/Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the monthly demand forecasting process by analyzing historical sales data, pricing, discounts, and promotional activities.
- Collaborate with business heads to create joint demand forecasts.
- Oversee the monthly order planning process based on agreed forecasts, goods in transit (GIT), open orders, and established stock norms.
- Monitor and track GIT and pending shipments from principals, ensuring timely updates and resolutions.
- Actively participate in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) with principals, driving alignment and ensuring execution of monthly supply plans.
- Manage daily warehouse stock replenishments, coordinating closely with the warehouse and logistics teams to ensure planned stock movements.
- Maintain and control inventory at the SKU level, adhering to set norms and preventing stockouts or overstocking.
- Prepare and present detailed MIS/KPI reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Demonstrate strong communication and stakeholder management skills to effectively engage with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (MBA is an added advantage).
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in demand planning, supply chain, or data analysis, with exposure to sales or warehousing/logistics.
- In-depth knowledge of inventory management practices and principles.
- Strong analytical skills with a solid grasp of mathematical and statistical concepts.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
