Job Summary




  • The Transport/Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing all transportation and logistics operations to ensure the efficient delivery of goods. This includes managing transporters, internal fleet operations, cost optimization, risk management, and compliance with safety and quality standards.



Key Responsibilities




  • Identify and onboard transportation companies or third-party logistics providers.

  • Communicate logistics requirements and negotiate terms with potential transporters.

  • Review registration documents, finalize contracts, and initiate partnerships with suitable transporters.

  • Develop and implement distribution plans based on sales orders.

  • Coordinate vehicle assignments and input data into the system.

  • Oversee warehouse loading operations and ensure timely dispatch of vehicles.

  • Monitor and guide teams to achieve monthly sales and distribution targets.

  • Maintain delivery records for cost reviews and transporter performance analysis.

  • Analyze transportation cost trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Ensure adherence to approved pricing systems and stay updated on market dynamics.

  • Coordinate with IT and QA departments to optimize operational processes.

  • Manage and archive operational documents for future review and compliance.

  • Evaluate transporter performance and ensure alignment with company objectives.

  • Develop partnerships with high-performing transporters while phasing out low-performing ones.

  • Maintain vehicle access standards to ensure quality and reliability.

  • Conduct thorough reviews of transporter credentials to mitigate risks.

  • Monitor delivery processes and establish a feedback mechanism for reporting abnormalities.

  • Handle transportation accidents and claims, ensuring proper documentation and resolution.

  • Implement and manage parking lot systems for company-related vehicles.

  • Maintain records and conduct regular inspections for effective parking lot management.

  • Build and develop a high-performing transportation management team.

  • Provide training and guidance to improve operational efficiency.

  • Establish performance appraisals and succession plans to support company growth.

  • Oversee internal truck loading operations and ensure compliance with policies.

  • Manage drivers and ensure optimal utilization of internal fleet resources.

  • Plan for fleet acquisition, maintenance, and replacement to ensure operational efficiency.

  • Maintain confidentiality of departmental data and operations at all times.

  • Enforce Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies to achieve zero accidents.

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 standards.

  • Plan, train, and empower subordinates to take on additional responsibilities.

  • Execute any other tasks assigned by management.



Qualifications & Experience




  • Degree in Transportation Management or related field (MSc or BSc preferred).

  • 5–7 years in transport/logistics management, in the FMCG/Manufacturing Industry.

  • Analytical skills, problem-solving, and data management.

  • Strong communication, leadership, decision-making, and critical-thinking skills.
