JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Provides friendly and attentive customer service to patients and colleagues while handling telephone inquiries and prescription pick-up/drop-off services, answering inquiries, and directing them to the appropriate channel or personnel.
- Dispensing medications and assisting in managing prescription orders. This involves data entry tasks such as entering patient information and prescriptions into the computer system accurately, updating the statuses of prescriptions, and other relevant tasks.
- Managing the Pharmacy/Store inventory, aiding in maintaining adequate stock levels of medications, other pharmaceutical products and store consumables. This includes monitoring inventory,monitoring inventory for expiring drugs/items for immediate action, restocking shelves, and alerting the Practice Manager when stock levels are low.
- Providing administrative support to the Clinic which may include but not limited to filing paperwork, organizing records, and managing relevant incoming and outgoing correspondence.
- Coordinating with suppliers and vendors is crucial for efficient pharmacy/store operations. You will manage relationships with vendors, place orders, track deliveries, and resolve any issues that may arise under the supervision of the Practice Manager.
- Working closely with the Practice Manager and other staff to ensure smooth operations and provide excellent customer service.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS :
- Graduate certification in Pharmacy Technology.
- Registration with the Board of Pharmacy and current practicing license as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Ability to process prescriptions electronically and ensure all information is accurate and complete.
- Ability to provide patient counselling.
- Familiarity with and ability to use technological tools including Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Ability to communicate medical concepts in clear layman language.
- Supply and inventory management skills.
- Good knowledge of dispensing commonly prescribed medications.
