Role Description

• This is a full-time on-site role located in Abuja. As a member of our surgical team, you will be responsible forcollaborating with other healthcare professionals, and providing patient care before, during, and after surgery.


• Perioperative nurses prepare patients for surgery by positioning them, preparing the surgical site, and confirming the procedure.They also assist with anesthesia, such as intubation and extubation.


• Perioperative nurses ensure that the correct equipment and supplies are available and in good working order.They also collect, check, and return equipment after each procedure.


• Perioperative nurses educate patients on best practices for recovery, including pain management and keeping wounds clean.


• Perioperative nurses maintain a sterile environment by cleaning surgical equipment and operating rooms.


• Perioperative nurses protect patients from injury by ensuring they are positioned correctly and by performing interventions to maintain their wound and tissue perfusion.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess a Nursing Degree, either an associate degree in nursing (ADN) or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with 3-10 years experience.


• Pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN)


• Gain clinical experience as a registered nurse (RN)


• Complete a perioperative nurse certification program


• Proven experience in surgical procedures


• Excellent communication and teamwork skills


• Attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure


• Commitment to following ethical and safety standards in surgery
