Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee EHS activities for all New Unit projects in the EMEA Pole.
- Implement the EHS management system, including policy, planning, training, risk assessment, inspections, audits, and event management.
- Enforce GE Vernova EHS standards and procedures at project sites, including those managed by non-GE personnel such as consultants and subcontractors.
- Travel to project sites regularly across the EMEA Pole providing coaching, mentoring and leadership
- Participate in incident investigations for serious or high-potential events.
- Address EHS non-compliance and provide data analysis to leadership on trends and corrective measures.
- Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the EMEA Pole Projects Leader and team.
- Develop and enhance EHS programs supporting the Gas Power business across the EMEA Pole.
- Assess EHS conditions, develop corrective-action plans, and allocate budgets to address deficiencies relative to regulations and internal protocols.
- Build an EHS talent pipeline, enhancing the capabilities of front-line EHS leaders to meet regional challenges.
- Manage partnerships with customers and partners to ensure safety at New Unit sites.
- Execute EHS action plans to achieve key performance indicators.
- Lead and support Projects EHS Portfolio leaders and Directors and their teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Engineering, Business, or equivalent from an accredited university or college.
- Extensive global or regional EHS and / or project team leadership experience.
- Operational experience managing large sites or projects.
- Effective communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
- Ability to travel up to 50% and to obtain necessary permits/visas in a timely manner and on short notice for travel to locations such as the UK, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Switzerland, Germany, Ireland, Poland, and occasionally the USA.
