Job Description




  • We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cashier with a solid foundation in accounting principles to join our team in Ibadan.

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, along with proficiency in using ERP systems for accurate transaction processing.

  • The Cashier will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient daily transactions, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining accurate financial records.



Key Responsibilities




  • Process customer transactions quickly and accurately, ensuring a smooth checkout experience.

  • Maintain accurate cash drawer, balancing daily receipts and preparing cash deposits.

  • Use ERP systems to record and process payments, handle refunds, and manage transaction logs.

  • Ensure proper accounting of all transactions and assist with reconciliation at the end of the shift.

  • Address customer inquiries or complaints related to payments and transactions in a professional manner.

  • Issue receipts, refunds, or change due to customers and maintain transaction records for reference.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and security procedures related to cash handling.

  • Collaborate with accounting or finance teams to report any discrepancies and ensure accurate financial records.

  • Maintain a clean and organized cashier station and assist with stock organization when necessary.



Qualifications




  • High School Diploma or equivalent; additional accounting or finance qualifications are a plus.

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a Cashier or in a similar accounting role.

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures.

  • Proficiency in ERP software and other transaction management tools.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling cash and processing payments.

  • Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.

  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.



Additional Requirements:




  • Knowledge of cash management practices and financial reporting.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to security standards in handling cash transactions.
