Job Description
- Fabricate and repair farm equipment such as trailers, cages, fences, and other metal structures.
- Make use of both oxy–acetylene gas welding and electric arc welding machines to perform welding work such as metal fabrication of small engineering components, welding of beams, and water tanks, perform welding repair work on agricultural equipment and implements.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and diagrams making use of Vernier Calipers, Micrometer screw gauge, and other measuring instruments.
- Construct and maintain farm infrastructure, including sheds, workshops, and other buildings.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on farm equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair welding equipment.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist other farm workers with various tasks as needed.
- Participate in farm maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- Minimum of ND/NABTEB/Trade Test 1 in Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineering, Welding Technology/Metal Fabrication from a recognized Polytechnic/Technical Institute.
- Candidates must possess a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience performing similar duties.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
