Job Summary
The HSE Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective health, safety, and environmental policies and practices across the organization. This role requires a professional with extensive experience in health and safety laws, incident management, and risk management, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and fostering a culture of safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct audits and inspections to assess compliance and identify potential risks.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, prepare reports, and communicate findings to management.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses for various operations and processes.
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential risks to employee safety and environmental impact.
- Provide recommendations for risk reduction and process improvements.
Required
- In-depth knowledge of HSE laws, regulations, and standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are required.
- 5–7 years of experience in HSE management
