Job Description

Vehicle Operation

• Safely operate waste collection vehicles in accordance with local traffic laws and regulations.


• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are safe and in good working condition.

Waste Collection

• Collect waste from residential, commercial, and industrial locations as scheduled.


• Ensure proper handling and disposal of various types of waste materials, adhering to environmental regulations. 

Customer Service

• Interact professionally with customers and respond to inquiries or concerns regarding waste collection services. 


• Address any issues that may arise during the collection process promptly and effectively.

Record Keeping

• Maintain accurate records of waste collection activities, including routes taken, volumes collected, and any incidents that occur during service.


• Complete necessary paperwork and reports as required by management. 

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with other drivers, client team and other waste management personnel to coordinate collection routes and schedules.


• Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and share best practices. 6. **Safety

Compliance

• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure personal safety and the safety of others on the road. 


• Report any accidents, injuries, or hazardous conditions to management immediately.

Maintenance and Cleanliness

• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of collection vehicles.


• Ensure that all equipment and tools are stored properly and in good condition.

Qualifications

• SSCE or equivalent.


• Valid commercial driver's license with a clean driving record.


• Previous experience as a waste collection driver or in a similar role is preferred. 


• Strong understanding of safety regulations and protocols associated with waste collection. 


• Excellent communication and customer service skills.


• Ability to work early mornings, late evenings, and on weekends as required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasks.


• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.


• Capability to remain alert and focused for extended periods while driving.
