Job Summary




  • We are seeking to recruit for the position of the Family Medicine Consultant. As the Family Medicine Consultant, you will provide comprehensive healthcare services, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses for individuals and families across all ages, genders, and conditions.

  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in family medicine, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and show a commitment to holistic patient care



Key Responsibilities




  • Diagnose and deliver holistic and evidence-based care to patients, treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and conditions for patients of all ages

  • Promote health through vaccinations, screenings, lifestyles counseling, and wellness programs that address physical, mental, and preventive health needs.

  • Perform Clinical assessments, diagnose medical conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans- perform minor outpatient procedures and manage referrals for specialized care when necessary

  • Provide first-line treatment and urgent or stabilization for patents in critical conditions within the facility’s capacity

  • Collaborate with specialists, therapist, allied healthcare professionals, and community resources to provide and ensure seamless integrated patient care.

  • Engage in medical research, mentor junior doctors, and provide training sessions for healthcare teams.



Qualifications & Professional Experience




  • Medical Degree (MBBS, MD) with Specialization in Family Medicine

  • MDCN Certified

  • Board Certified in Family Medicine

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Family Medicine (or general practice after being certified)

  • Experience working in a private institution is an added advantage



Core Skills & Functional Competencies:




  • Familiarity with ethical and legal issues in patient care

  • Proficiency in Managing acute and chronic medical solutions

  • Knowledge of Local health policies and regulations in Nigeria

  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and medical software.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary healthcare team

  • Strong understanding of Pharmacology and Medication Management

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
