Job Summary




  • As a Cargo Manager, you will be expected to coordinate and plan the activities of the department in line with the company’s procedures.



Specific Responsibilities




  • Identify and implement process improvement.

  • Ensure SOPs are reviewed and implemented by the team.

  • Act as customer champion by managing the communication with clients, thus ensuring currency and relevant awareness of customer needs and expectations, committed performance standards, satisfaction levels, risks and opportunities

  • Liaise with Ground Handling Companies, Airlines, and Government agencies involved in the air cargo industry.

  • Ensure pricing initiatives are current and following market trends and requirements of the highly competitive environment.

  • Initiate and drive development of specific products and/or innovations requested by customers and/or evolving within the industry

  • Carry out all administrative activities within the organization

  • Ensure proper documentation is filed and kept (online and offline)

  • Prepare and/or update activity trackers for all cargo related activities

  • Prepare weekly activity/update reports

  • Carry out any other additional related duties as assigned.



Qualifications and Requirements




  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field. A Master’s degree in Business Administration, or a related field is an added advantage

  • Must possess professional qualifications/certifications (IATA DGR/ CARGO)

  • At least 8 years professional experience in Air Cargo Operation and 4years’ experience in a Leadership role.

  • Sound knowledge of IATA Cargo Handling Procedures and ability to train and transfer knowledge to team members

  • Proven track record in managing logistics/cargoregulatory compliance and practices.

  • Organizational, leadership and planning skills

  • Attention to detail and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines

  • Communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong team-building and mentorship capabilities.

  • Strategic thinking with a problem-solving mindset.
