Job Summary




  • The Business Development Expert will be responsible for driving strategic growth by identifying, acquiring, and maintaining client relationships across private, public, and development sectors. The role demands strong market insight, strategic thinking, and the ability to develop tailored solutions that align with organisational goals and client needs.



Job Responsibilities




  • Develop and execute business development strategies to expand Rhizome Consulting’s footprint in key sectors.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations to drive revenue growth.

  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, gaps, and potential opportunities.

  • Lead proposal development, bids, and pitches for new contracts and consultancy projects.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, multinational organisations, and private sector leaders.

  • Design and implement client engagement strategies to enhance satisfaction and long-term partnerships.

  • Represent the organisation at industry conferences, networking events, and business forums.

  • Provide insights and recommendations for service innovation and business model optimisation.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless project execution and service delivery.



EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION




  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.

  • Relevant certifications in Business Development, Sales, or Strategy Management are an added advantage e.g. CIM certifications, CIBN certifications, ICAN certifications, PMP certification.



Knowledge, Skills & Experience




  • 10+ years of proven experience in business development, sales, or client relationship management, preferably in consulting or related industries.

  • Demonstrated success in securing new clients, winning proposals, and achieving revenue growth across multiple sectors.

  • Strong understanding of private, public, and development sectors, including their unique challenges and opportunities.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and persuade at all levels.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and drive strategic initiatives.

  • Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
