- We are seeking a skilled and reliable Cook/Steward to join our team in Awe, Oyo State. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency in the kitchen.
- The Cook/Steward will work collaboratively to ensure customer satisfaction by delivering delicious and fresh meals in line with specifications and food safety standards.
Responsibilities
Food Preparation and Cooking:
- Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh and meet quality standards.
- Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients accurately.
- Prepare meals using various cooking methods such as baking, grilling, steaming, boiling, and frying.
Presentation and Service:
- Present, garnish, and arrange dishes attractively.
- Serve food promptly and accommodate guests' special requests.
Workstation and Equipment Maintenance:
- Set up and maintain workstations with required ingredients and equipment.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills, and fryers.
Food Safety and Hygiene:
- Handle and store food safely, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, including utensils, equipment, and dishes.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils regularly.
Inventory and Procedures:
- Monitor station inventory levels and report shortages promptly.
- Execute opening and closing procedures in the kitchen.
- Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Proven experience as a cook or in a similar role.
- Familiarity with various cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organizational and multitasking skills.
- Attention to detail and creativity in food presentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
