Job Summary
The treasury executive is responsible for cash deposits, withdrawals and payments, petty cash administration and monitoring the organization's cash position.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains records to allow easy disbursement, reconciliation and replenishment
- Makes prompt payment to suppliers, vendors and other creditors when due
- Manages the petty cash register as well as spread sheets to allow for reconciliation of accounts.
- Raises cheques and prepares confirmation and transfer letters for approved payments over petty cash limit
- Processes expense retirement ledgers to ensure proper accountability of all cash advances
- Processes updates to bank mandates and processes new account opening forms.
- Reviews bank statements daily to ascertain correctness of charges, commissions and posted transactions.
- Processes cash, cheques or direct debit payments to suppliers, vendors and other creditors
- Processes payroll payment.
- Creates and maintains (files) accurate records of cash requests and disbursements for each department.
Requirements
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Finance, Accounting
Professional Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in treasury roles
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of financial services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong leadership and relationship management skills.
- Knowledge of treasury management principles, banking ethics, compliance, Know Your Customer (KYC), and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations.
- Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and tax compliance standards.
Professional Certifications:
- Certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), or Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) are advantageous.
