Job summary/Role description

• The Junior Accountant is responsible for processing and updating financial information by maintaining and reconciling accounts and preparing reports. This role involves general bookkeeping, payment processing, and supporting the accounting team in various tasks to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with company procedures.

Duties and responsibilities

• General bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, prepayments, and accruals.


• Processing payments and performing bank reconciliations.


• Supporting the accounting team in end-of-month, end-of-quarter, and year-end accounting procedures.


• Preparing the reports for management and head office.


• Preparing supporting documentation as per group procedures.


• Dealing with vendors, and bank queries on a daily basis.


• Liaising with intercompany for balance reconciliation and queries.


• Conducting general administrative activities.


•  Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings


• Update financial data in databases to ensure accuracy and availability

Knowledge & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related Field


• ICAN certification will be an added advantage

Experience

• 2-5 Years of experience in accounting


• Previous experience in big 4 is preferable.


• Previous experience in Construction is preferable.


• In-depth knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting & tax regulations.


• Good proficiency in Italian language is advantageous.


• Excellent communication skills.


• Knowledge of ERP systems, particularly SAP, is preferable.
