Job Description
Our client is in need of an experienced Hotel Manager to oversee the daily operations of their hotel as well as provide strategic direction in operations, administration and management.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and supervising the activities of an extensive and diverse workforce to ensure the smooth and profitable running of the business.
You will also be responsible for and involved in all aspects of the hotel operations. You will be just as responsible for dealing with complaints as for strategising and preparing reports. You will be a key person of reference for employees and clients as well as external vendors.
The hotel manager must be able to galvanise his/her workforce to function as a team to achieve projected outcomes.
Therefore, the ideal candidate will be a team player and an effective leader, who will lead by example and set the pace for the organisation and other members of staff.

Responsibilities
- Supervise or be involved in work at all levels (receptionists, kitchen staff, housekeepers, etc.) and set clear objectives for members of staff.
- Plan activities and allocate responsibilities to achieve the most efficient operating model.
- Manage budgets/expenses, analyse and interpret financial information and monitor sales and profits.
- Develop and implement an intuitive and efficient marketing strategy that encompasses several sub-strategies to promote the hotel’s services.
- Communicate with customers when necessary (welcome certain clients to the facility, address their complaints, resolve issues and offer necessary information where applicable.
- Handle maintenance issues, staffing/equipment needs and renovations. Where applicable, recommendations should be given well in advance.
- Collaborate with external consultants such as suppliers, travel agencies, event/conference planners, etc to ensure that primary objectives are achieved.
- Inspect facilities regularly and enforce strict compliance with health and safety standards.

Requirements and skills
- Proven experience as a Hotel Manager in all ramifications. Related roles might be considered.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of other local and international languages is a plus.
- Understanding of all hotel management best practices and relevant laws and guidelines.
- Working knowledge of a hotel management software, MS Office and other related software.
- Excellent customer service skills as well as a premium business mindset.
- Demonstrable aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure (not just stating it on your resume like all of us).
- Outstanding leadership skills and a great attention to detail.
- Degree in Business Administration, Hotel/Hospitality Management or relevant field.
Terms
The client will pay 50% of the agreed remuneration in the first month.
Probation period is for 3-6 months. On conclusion (satisfactory), remuneration will be reviewed upwards.
