Job Summary




  • We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented Upholsterer to join our team.

  • The Upholsterer will be responsible for covering, padding, and finishing furniture items, including chairs, sofas, headboards, and custom pieces.

  • The ideal candidate will have expertise in fabric and leather application, precision in crafting, and a passion for creating high-quality, aesthetically pleasing furniture.



Responsibilities




  • Measure, cut, and sew fabric, leather, or other materials to cover furniture frames accurately.

  • Apply foam, padding, springs, and webbing to frames for structural and aesthetic purposes.

  • Ensure all materials are secured and finished professionally, with smooth and wrinkle-free results.

  • Measuring and cutting leather or fabric with the aid of design stencils.

  • Installing foam and batting to the furniture framework.

  • Match patterns, colors, and textures for a seamless and appealing look.

  • Provide creative input to improve upholstery design and functionality.

  • Work closely with other departments, including design, carpentry, and assembly teams, to ensure seamless production.

  • Communicate with supervisors and team members about progress, challenges, and customer feedback.

  • Operate sewing machines, staple guns, cutting tools, and other upholstery equipment safely and effectively.

  • Maintain tools and machines in good working condition, reporting any repairs or replacements needed.

  • Inspect completed pieces to ensure all upholstery work meets company quality standards.

  • Address any flaws or inconsistencies promptly to maintain product excellence.

  • Stretching out and installing fabric or leather coverings.

  • Stitching, gluing, and nailing fabric into place.

  • Smoothing out imperfections.



Skills / Requirements




  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

  • Good problem-solving skills to address design or assembly challenges.

  • Team player with effective communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Excellent design skills.

  • Detail-oriented.

  • Knowledge of upholstery tools including hot knives, nail guns, and sewing equipment.

  • Ability to lift, pull, and manipulate heavy objects.

  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods.

  • Comfortable lifting and moving heavy furniture pieces and materials.

  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.



Benefits




  • Salary: N60,000 - N100,000 Monthly.

  • Hostel availabale for staff.
