Job Summary



  • Assists the Team Lead Credit Risk Analysis (Corporate) to provide independent credit risk analysis and recommendations, quantitative and qualitative risk evaluation (score or rating) and highlight potential risk of the borrower and loan product


Duties & Responsibilities



  • Responsible for risk evaluation of loan applications within the Commercial & SME credit analysis space with guidance from the bank’s credit policy and manuals.

  • Ensure timely and quality credit assessment and decision are made.

  • Evaluation and recommendation of credit proposal to senior Credit Analyst for approval or decline;

  • Calculate and provide total, qualitative and quantitative risk rating or score for loan applicant with proper and supporting evidence/documents;

  • To provide detailed and timely reports on a weekly and Monthly basis on the Credit Analysis activities

  • Undertake special duties/assignments as directed by the Senior Credit Analyst, Head Credit Analysis (Commercial & SME), CCO and CRO.;

  • Review and provide feedback to the business unit about the completed loan application form and risk ratings. If anything is missing or not clear in the application, ensure to inform the same at very first and get the completed application with all required supportive documents for the credit risk analysis;

  • Evaluate whether proposals meet sound business criteria and credit risk falls within acceptable parameters, approve and recommends appropriate credit facilities including terms and conditions of facilities.;

  • Builds relationship with BDMs and Relationship Officers to improve quality of business proposals and turnaround time on credit evaluations.;

  • Evaluate the Environment and Social impact of borrower's activities on the environment and assess the E and S risk rating of customer's;

  • Identifies, quantifies and evaluates sources of risk in relation to profitability of business proposals and financial viability of bank clients as a whole, interrogates/probes. Based on risk rating grade/score, responsible to recommend approval or rejection of the loan proposal.


Requirements 



  • A First Degree or equivalent in any discipline 

  • 3 - 4 years of post qualification experience in risk management or related area within financial services industry             


Job Knowledge:



  • knowledge of CBN policies and regulatory guidelines

  • knowledge and understanding of UBN's credit policy

  • Knowledge and experience of market segments;

  • Basic accounting and financial analysis knowledge;

  • Basci credit writing and presentation knowledge

  • Knowledge of best practices

  • Mandatory knowledge of CBN Prudential Guidelines

  • Knowledge and experience of other relevant regulatory policies and guidelines

  • Credit Risk/Analytical Skills

  • Strong Product Knowledge

  • Good knowledge of market base and customer base
