Job Objective




  • The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for efficiently processing, organizing, and storing inventory.

  • The role involves packaging and preparing orders for delivery while ensuring timeliness and accuracy.

  • The Warehouse Assistant must be proficient in inventory software and databases, capable of operating simple machinery, and uphold the highest level of integrity.



Key Responsibilities




  • Ensure Movement of inventory and materials across inter-warehouses as directed.

  • Process inventory for pickup and receipt as required.

  • Sort, organize, and store inventory in designated locations.

  • Package and label items accurately.

  • Scan delivery items and ensure quality control.

  • Report any damaged inventories immediately it occurs

  • Stack and organize bulk items efficiently in designated locations

  • Unload inventory from trucks or shipping containers and store them appropriately at designated locations

  • Ensure the optimal storage conditions are in good condition for the store inventories

  • Update logs and maintain documentation for inventory tracking.

  • Conduct monthly physical stock count and reconciliation

  • Prepare documentation and inventory records for audits inspections.

  • Operate basic machinery for inventory movement and storage

  • Maintain a clean and hazard-free workspace, ensuring compliance with safety regulations

  • Adhere to all security and safety protocols put in place at the Lagos State Medical Store.

  • Submit routine reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly etc,) to inform decision-making

  • Perform any other duties as assigned



Qualification and Experience




  • OND certificate and/or other relevant certifications related to logistics, warehousing and distribution.

  • A minimum of 2 years relevant experience working in warehouses and handling pharmaceuticals and/or laboratory commodities is essential.

  • Good sense of warehouse organisation with proven integrity and demonstrated ability to read and write.

  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in alignment with simple directives and instructions.

  • Attention to detail and quality standards

  • Basic computer skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
