Job Description
What You’ll Do:
- As a Lead Accountant, your key responsibilities will encompass:
- Managing the entire accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes.
- Ensuring strict adherence to accounting standards, policies, and internal controls.
- Preparing precise financial statements, reports, and management analyses.
- Leading and mentoring a dedicated team of accountants.
- Collaborating with various departments on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
- Identifying areas for process improvement and overseeing the implementation of new accounting systems or software.
What We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Chartered Accountant qualification (ICAN member).
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within the oil & gas sector.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS, Nigerian tax regulations, and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in process improvements and system implementations.
