Salary: N120k – N200k based on years of experience



Our client, a reputable school in Surulere is looking to hire a Class Teacher for their school.



Responsibilities 



Curriculum Delivery:




  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons based on the primary school's curriculum and educational standards.

  • Utilize various teaching methods, materials, and technologies to cater to diverse learning styles.

  • Integrate hands-on activities and interactive learning experiences to enhance student engagement.



Classroom Management:




  • Maintain a well-organized and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning.

  • Establish clear rules and expectations for behaviour and implement a positive behaviour management system.

  • Promote a safe and inclusive classroom culture where all students feel valued and respected.



Student Assessment:




  • Regularly assess and monitor students' academic progress and performance.

  • Use formative and summative assessments to identify areas for improvement and track student achievements.

  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their learning journey.



Individualized Instruction:




  • Identify and address individual learning needs and differences among students.

  • Develop and implement personalized learning plans for students who require additional support or challenge.

  • Collaborate with other educators and support staff to meet the diverse needs of students.



Parent Communication:




  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents or guardians regarding students' progress and behaviour.

  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences and provide regular updates on students' academic and social development.

  • Address parental concerns and work collaboratively with families to support students' success.



Professional Development:




  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

  • Stay updated on current educational trends, best practices, and teaching methodologies.

  • Participate in staff meetings, workshops, and training sessions as required.



Extracurricular Involvement:




  • Participate in school activities, events, and committees to contribute to the school's overall development.

  • Facilitate or support extracurricular activities such as clubs, sports, or arts programs.



Classroom Resources and Maintenance:




  • Utilize educational resources effectively, including textbooks, technology, and learning aids.

  • Maintain classroom materials and resources, ensuring they are well-organized and accessible.

  • Report any classroom maintenance or equipment needs to the appropriate personnel.



REQUIREMENTS:




  • A Bachelor's degree in Education or a PGDE is required.

  • Previous experience in teaching, especially at the nursery and school level, is important.

  • A passion for working with young children and a genuine interest in their academic and personal development.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues effectively.

  • Knowledge of nursery and primary school curriculum frameworks and educational standards.

  • Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students and their families.
