About the Role
- The Orthopedic Surgeon will be responsible for providing comprehensive orthopaedic care to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation.
- This includes performing a wide range of orthopaedic procedures, from minimally invasive arthroscopy to complex joint replacements.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients' medical history, perform physical examinations, and order and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Diagnose and treat a variety of orthopaedic conditions, including fractures, dislocations, arthritis, sports injuries, and congenital deformities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including surgical and non-surgical options.
- Perform orthopaedic surgeries with precision and expertise.
- Provide pre-and post-operative care to patients.
- Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment options, and recovery process.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals (e.g., anesthesiologists, nurses, physical therapists) to ensure comprehensive patient care. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing medical education.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
- Medical Degree
- Completion of a residency in Orthopedic Surgery.
- Medical license in Nigeria.
- Demonstrated clinical competence in orthopaedic surgery.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with minimally invasive surgical techniques.
- Research experience or publications.
- Teaching experience.
