Job Description

Key responsibilities of a veterinary doctor include:

• Animal examinations: Assessing animal health through physical examinations, including taking vital signs, checking for abnormalities, and identifying potential health issues.


• Diagnosis and treatment: Diagnosing illnesses and injuries using diagnostic tools like blood tests, X-rays, ultrasounds, and interpreting results to determine the best course of treatment.


• Surgical procedures: Performing surgeries such as spaying, neutering, wound repair, and orthopedic surgeries.


• Medication administration: Prescribing and administering medications to treat various conditions.


• Vaccination and preventative care: Providing vaccinations to protect animals from common diseases and advising owners on preventative healthcare practices like dental hygiene and nutrition.


• Client communication: Educating animal owners on proper care, explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and addressing concerns.


• Emergency care: Responding to and treating urgent animal health situations.
