Job Overview
The Branch Manager shall be responsible for :
- General Office management and assigned Logistics operations including but not limited to Customs Clearing, General Freight Forwarding, Transportation, Warehousing and Delivery.
- Coordination of all import, FOB and Cross shipments from Origin to delivery in accordance with Incoterms and processing of relevant documentation.
- Reporting, communicating lead times, transit status and ETAs of shipments.
- Supervising and managing a team of Operation Assistants and field Personnel.
- Facilitating health & safety, quality and process improvement projects on all aspects of the logistics business.
- Obtaining quotations and Invoice processing including a structured and integrated monitoring process.
- Ensuring Clients and Organization’s due compliance with import, export & operational ethics and regulations set by the various regulatory bodies.
- Accountable for Company Policies, Clients’ requirements and local/international regulatory compliance regarding Freight forwarding and Procurement Operations.
- Managing service providers, subcontractors, and monitoring service performance and commitments.
- Investigating and maintaining Tariff codes and Duty rates.
- All other incidental Logistics operational concerns.
Desired Qualifications/Skills
- BSc / HND in related fields.
- Minimum 10 years demonstrated experience in general logistics operations(Air and Sea Freight) with at least 4 years in similar managerial role with a company operating in the Logistics Industry.
- Applicant must have prior shipping, air & sea freight logistics and customs clearance experience and a sound understanding of the logistics Industry.
- Applicant must be service-oriented with a strong focus on building and maintaining customer relationships and must be resident in Port Harcourt.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication, as well as good interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Good Computer Skills.
- Excellent business acumen and intelligence.
