SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

• Aseptic sampling of water, materials, intermediates, finished products, cleaning-in-place machine samples for microbial analysis.


• Microbial analysis of water, materials, intermediates, and finished products.


• Inspection of cleaned production equipment and environment during product change-over, sampling, and analysis of product surface contacts of the equipment. 


• Calibration of measuring equipment/ devices.


• Validation of critical microbiology equipment and culture media.


• Microbial assay (potency) of beta-lactam actives (raw materials) and products.


• Preparation and sterilization of culture media, glass wares, and reagents for microbial analysis.


• Inventory records of the culture media and other microbiology items in the laboratory.


• Microbiological monitoring of bore-hole water, pre-treatment (potable water), and treated / purified water for pharmaceutical use.


• Microbiological monitoring of critical manufacturing environment, reporting of Pre- and Post-fumigation exercise, and proffering CAPA in case of OOS.

Qualifications

• Minimum of B.Sc. in Microbiology.


•  1 to 3 years of relevant experience as a microbiologist
