Job Summary:
- The Loan Officer is responsible for evaluating, processing, and managing loan applications for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The role involves assessing creditworthiness, ensuring compliance with lending policies, maintaining strong client relationships, and mitigating risks while maximizing portfolio growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Loan Origination & Assessment – Identify, evaluate, and process loan applications from SMEs, including credit risk analysis and due diligence.
- Loan Processing & Disbursement – Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with lending policies before loan approval and disbursement.
- Portfolio & Risk Management – Monitor loan repayments, manage non-performing loans, and implement recovery strategies.
- Client Relationship & Business Development – Build and maintain strong SME client relationships, provide financial advisory, and drive loan portfolio growth.
- Regulatory Compliance & Reporting – Ensure adherence to banking regulations and prepare periodic reports on loan performance.

Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of SME financing and risk assessment.
- Proficiency in financial statement analysis and cash flow projections.
- Good understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in microfinance.
- Experience using loan management systems and banking software.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, HND in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in credit analysis, loan processing, or SME lending in a microfinance or commercial bank.
