Job Summary




  • Design/ implementation of an effective maintenance program for mechanical equipment/machines at the Ovade Ogharefe Gas plant integrated gas gathering/recompression facility.



Key Roles & Responsibilities




  • Prepare maintenance philosophies, specifications and work scopes for the following equipment:

  • 5LP compressors Waukesha 7044 engines driving Superior WH 64 compressors.

  • 6 IP compressors Waukesha 7044 engines driving Superior WH62 compressors.

  • 2 HP compressors CAT 3616 engines driving Superior WG74 compressors and 2 Sales gas compressors with same engine and compressor configuration as HP units.

  • Refridge compressor with CAT 3516 engine and Frick SGC 2817 Screw compressor. Plus associated equipment, Mole Seive unit, fin fan coolers and gas fired heaters.

  • Overhaul the above stated equipment type and model of engines and compressors as required

  • Generate critical spares and fluids required for smooth operation.

  • Diagnose mechanical faults via Cat ET and ESM

  • Document performance history for each equipment

  • Train, Coach and Mentor Pan Ocean’s staff.

  • Develop procedures for mechanical equipment testing, installation, commissioning and startup.

  • Witness and Monitor installation activities to ensure compliance with job specifications, functional performance, safety goals, and terms of contract

  • Analyze equipment failure modes, and root causes of failures. Must have a working knowledge of the tools and processes which support these activities. Lead identification, documentation, and resolution of warranty claims related to static equipment.

  • Supervise all fitting and welding activities using industry best practice.

  • Study and interpret P& ID’s, PFD’s and Isometric drawings for team use.

  • Generate periodic reports for management and external stakeholders.



Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications




  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degee (B.Eng) in Mechanical Engineering with 5-10 years experience

  • Relevant technical qualifications and certifications in CAT & Waukesia engine maintenance

  • Extensive experience in upstream operations with significant experience in a supervisory capacity.

  • Understanding of and experience in gas production engineering.

  • Work experience in multidisciplinary teams & multicultural environment is a must. Previous work experience in Nigeria is a plus.

  • Very good understanding of oil and gas procedures and practices.

  • Experience in gas processing to include separation, dewatering and fiscal metering. Ability to work with operations personnel to resolve problems.

  • Excellent relationships skills.

  • Fluency in English (written/spoken).

  • Good PC capabilities.

  • COREN Registered Engineer
