To ensure effective monitoring and controls of all CGP’s (Central Gathering Plants), compression, gas treating and production facilities
Responsibilities
Monitor and control the plant efficiently and optimally to maximize the recovery of products and manage the correct delivery rate and specifications to residue sales points.
Demonstrate continuous effort to maintain safety, improve operations, and decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality, seamless plant operations.
Monitor in line chromatograph and ensure product is kept on spec by making adjustments as and when required, and report same to operations supervisors.
Review and update operating procedures as required by Process Safety Management.
Coordinate with the plant maintenance group in the repair of all compressors, engines and pumps. Work with technicians to perform scheduled checks of plant instrumentation and other equipment.
Controls Permits to Work and ensure Supervisor and maintenance technicians are aware of tasks, planned maintenance in progress.
Produce daily operations report, highlighting equipment and process faults compiled from Operators timely. Assist the team leader in preparation of monthly plant performance and Equipment run-hours, including availability statistics
Train other operators in the plant operation and teach the use of the HMI control system.
Qualifications
Minimum HND education or equivalent Certification. Prior DCS training preferred.
6 years’ progressive experience in gas plants and of which 3 years in similar role in operations or equivalent.
Mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and operational experience.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Must be knowledgeable of the plant processes (Cryogenic/Non-Cryogenic) and the DCS system.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safe rules, Material Safety Data Sheets, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to read and interpret P &ID
Ability to write routine reports, instructions, Management of Change (MOC) and correspondence.
