Purpose of the Job
- Responsible for technical integrity and assurance of well designs and technical risk assessment, management, contingency planning and mitigation.
Principal Accountabilities
- Demonstrate a high commitment to HSE.
- Develop and manage the process for technical challenge and evaluation of well concepts and models.
- Verify that assigned wells have gone through the required Quality Assurance process before commencement of drilling operations
- Deliver planned number of wells on budget, on schedule and to the quality standards specified in the well proposal
- Manage the interface with Subsurface and Operations Teams.
- Coordinate service contractors to ensure that high quality services are provided in accordance with their respective contracts
- Liaises with the Community Relation Officers to work out strategies with the host communities to minimize disruption in Well drilling and completion operations.
- Manage the process of obtaining DPR approvals and other governmental permitting requirements
- Manage the progress of work on well drilling and completion activities assigned to his team.
Job Knowledge & Qualifications
- A graduate Degree in Engineering or physical science
- COREN
- A minimum of 12 years Oil and Gas drilling and completion experience.
- Well Engineer in E & P Company with global exposure an advantage.
