Job Summary




  • We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Completion Engineer to join our upstream oil and gas operations in Nigeria. 

  • The Senior Completion Engineer will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing completion activities to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of well completion programs.

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, leadership capabilities, and a proven track record in upstream oil and gas projects.



Key Responsibilities




  • Lead the design, planning, and execution of well completion and workover programs for onshore and offshore wells.

  • Develop detailed completion designs, including equipment selection, fluid systems, and sand control strategies, to optimize well productivity and longevity.

  • Prepare completion programs, cost estimates, and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with company standards, industry best practices, and Nigerian regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including reservoir engineers, drilling engineers, and geoscientists, to align completion strategies with overall field development objectives.

  • Monitor and analyze completion operations, providing real-time technical support and troubleshooting to resolve challenges.

  • Conduct post-completion evaluations and prepare detailed reports to capture lessons learned and improve future operations.

  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior completion engineers and field personnel.

  • Manage completion budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining safety, quality, and environmental standards.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and innovations to enhance completion engineering processes.



Qualifications




  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in completion engineering, with a focus on upstream oil and gas operations.

  • Professional certification is highly desirable.

  • Strong knowledge of completion techniques, including sand control, hydraulic fracturing, intelligent completions, and well stimulation.

  • Proficiency in completion design software (e.g., WellCat, Prosper, or equivalent).

  • Excellent project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities, with experience working in multicultural teams.

  • Familiarity with Nigerian oil and gas regulations and industry standards.
