  • We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Well Engineer to join our upstream oil and gas operations. 

  • The Senior Well Engineer will play a critical role in planning, designing, and executing well engineering activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective drilling and completion operations. 

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, leadership skills, and a proven track record in upstream oil and gas projects.



Responsibilities




  • Lead the planning, design, and execution of drilling, completion, and workover programs for onshore and offshore wells.

  • Prepare well engineering documentation, including well proposals, drilling programs, cost estimates, and risk assessments.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and Nigerian regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including geologists, reservoir engineers, and contractors, to optimize well designs and operations.

  • Monitor and analyze drilling performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing best practices.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior well engineers and field personnel.

  • Manage well engineering budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining safety and quality standards.

  • Conduct post-well reviews and prepare detailed reports to capture lessons learned and improve future operations.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and innovations to enhance well engineering processes.



Qualifications




  • Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in well engineering, with a focus on upstream oil and gas operations.

  • Professional certification is highly desirable.

  • Strong knowledge of drilling and completion techniques, wellbore design, and well control practices.

  • Proficiency in well engineering software.

  • Excellent project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities, with experience working in multicultural teams.

  • Familiarity with Nigerian oil and gas regulations and industry standards.
