- As a Business Development Executive at our freight and forwarding company, you will play a crucial role in identifying new business opportunities, expanding our market presence, and fostering strong relationships with clients.
- Reporting directly to the Head of Business Development, you will be responsible for driving growth strategies, acquiring new clients, and enhancing our service offerings.
- Your primary focus will be to contribute to the company’s success by increasing revenue and market share through strategic initiatives and effective relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
Market Research & Analysis:
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential business opportunities and trends.
- Analyze competitors and market conditions to develop strategies for gaining a competitive edge.
Lead Generation & Client Acquisition:
- Identify and reach out to potential clients through various channels, including networking, cold calls, and industry events.
- Develop and present proposals to prospective clients, demonstrating the value of our shipping services.
Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, addressing their needs and concerns promptly.
Strategic Planning:
- Collaborate with the senior management team to develop and implement business development strategies.
- Identify and pursue strategic partnerships and alliances to enhance the company's market presence.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of business development activities, client interactions, and sales pipeline.
- Prepare and present regular reports on business development progress and performance metrics.
Sales Support:
- Assist in the development of sales materials and presentations.
- Support the sales team with market insights and lead qualification.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
New Business Acquisition:
- Number of new clients acquired per quarter.
- Revenue generated from new business opportunities.
Client Retention:
- Retention rate of existing clients.
- Client satisfaction and feedback scores.
Lead Conversion Rate:
- Percentage of leads converted into clients.
- Time taken to close new business deals.
Market Penetration:
- Growth in market share within target regions.
- Number of new markets or segments entered.
Revenue Growth:
- Increase in overall revenue and profit margins.
- Achievement of quarterly and annual revenue targets.
Strategic Initiatives:
- Number and success rate of strategic partnerships or alliances established.
- Implementation and impact of new business development strategies.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, International Trade, Logistics, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in business development or sales, preferably within the shipping, logistics, or transportation industry.
- Proven track record of successful client acquisition and relationship management.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of the shipping and logistics industry.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to analyze market trends and develop strategic plans.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
