Job Description




  • The Account Officer will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial activities within the logistics firm.



Responsibilities




  • Receipting of Cash/Cheques & Bank Transfers in the receipt book.

  • Posting of Receipts in the system & allocation against specific invoices.

  • Preparation of Daily Cash book & reconciling it with the bank statement.

  • Monitor bank accounts online to ensure availability of funds for operational purposes.

  • Petty cash voucher handling & Reimbursement.

  • Invoicing of shipments uplifted & send out the invoices to all clients

  • Debtors management i.e. Send out statements to all clients, timely collection of debt as per credit terms (for cash, collect before shipment uplift), timely reconciliation of debtor statements and solve debtor queries.

  • Preparation of Weekly Payment plan (include all payments expected to be settled).

  • Preparation & submission of Airlines Cargo Sales Reports (CSR) as per agreed contract rates & dates.

  • Settlement of airlines Cargo Sales Reports (CSR) as per agreed credit terms.

  • Preparation of VAT returns, With-holding taxes & Instalment Taxes on or before the due dates.

  • Monthly Payroll processing & Management.

  • Payment of Statutory Deductions on or before due dates.

  • Creditors management i.e. Posting Creditor’s invoices, Reconciliations of creditor’s statements, sorting out queries & making Payments thereof.

  • Monthly Bank Reconciliations & submission for verification.

  • Preparation of end month Management reports

  • Maintain the Company’s Fixed Asset Register.

  • Maintain list of all company insured assets, amount insured and next date of renewal.

  • Ensure Renewal of Company’s business permits, subscriptions &/or Licenses on time.

  • Ensure that Annual Company Returns are filed before the due dates.

  • Maintain a claims file for all client claims & follow up claims with the airline(s).

  • Assist in preparation of finance documents as requested by the supervisor for preparation of internal & External Audit.

  • Any other duties assigned by supervisor



Requirements




  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • 2+ years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in the logistics or transport industry.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
