Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Wooden Greenhouse Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in woodworking, carpentry, and construction, with a particular focus on building and maintaining wooden greenhouses. This role involves designing, constructing, and ensuring the durability and stability of greenhouse structures made primarily of wood.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Construction:

• Measure, cut, and assemble wooden frames and structures for greenhouses, ensuring precise and safe assembly.


• Build custom wooden greenhouse frames, doors, windows, and other components.


• Install roofing, walls, and flooring according to plans and blueprints.

Material Selection and Preparation:

• Choose appropriate materials for the greenhouse construction, including wood, screws, nails, and sealants.


• Cut and prepare wood for each part of the greenhouse, ensuring proper dimensions and quality.

Maintenance and Repairs:

• Conduct repairs and upgrades to existing wooden greenhouses, replacing or reinforcing damaged components.


• Inspect and maintain wooden structures to ensure longevity, safety, and optimal functionality.

Customization:

• Collaborate with clients to tailor greenhouse designs to their specific needs or environmental conditions.


• Provide recommendations for improvements or modifications to existing structures.

Safety and Compliance:

• Ensure all carpentry work follows safety protocols and complies with local building codes and regulations.


• Maintain a clean and safe work environment on-site and in the workshop.

Tool and Equipment Handling:

• Operate carpentry tools such as saws, drills, and sanders efficiently and safely.


• Maintain and service carpentry tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in carpentry, with a focus on wood construction (greenhouse experience preferred but not required).


• Strong knowledge of building materials, woodworking techniques, and tools.


• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical drawings.


• Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.


• Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in outdoor environments.


• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues during construction or repairs.


• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well independently or as part of a team.

Preferred Skills:

• Ability to climb for structural constructions/ repairs


• Knowledge of greenhouse systems (ventilation, irrigation, etc.).


• Experience working with sustainable or eco-friendly materials.


• Familiarity with wood finishing techniques to improve durability and aesthetics.

Work Environment:

• Primarily outdoor work of green house construction and repairs.


• May require travel to various locations for installation or repairs.
