Job Overview
- We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Systems Maintenance:
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems, circuits, and equipment.
- Repair and replace electrical components, wiring, and equipment as needed to keep systems running efficiently.
- Install and maintain electrical systems, including machinery, motors, lighting, and control systems.
- Diagnose electrical faults and make necessary repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:
- Identify and resolve electrical issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime and production delays.
- Work with other maintenance and production teams to address technical problems and implement corrective actions.
- Test electrical systems, ensuring they meet all safety and operational standards.
Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all safety standards, electrical codes, and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, NEC, etc.).
- Ensure that electrical systems are operating within legal and company standards.
- Conduct safety checks on electrical equipment and ensure all necessary safety procedures are followed.
System Improvements and Upgrades:
- Recommend improvements and upgrades to electrical systems to enhance efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new electrical systems and equipment.
- Provide input on energy-saving projects and solutions.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Prepare reports on system performance and maintenance schedules for management.
- Maintain electrical diagrams, schematics, and documentation for troubleshooting and future reference.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure electrical systems support operational needs.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to report issues, progress, and solutions.
- Train and mentor junior technicians or staff on electrical maintenance best practices.
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification preferred).
- Technical or vocational training in electrical systems, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
- Electrical maintenance certifications (e.g., Journeyman or Master Electrician) are an advantage.
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, or facilities environment.
- Hands-on experience with electrical systems, wiring, control systems, motors, and other electrical equipment.
- Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, and other automation systems is a plus.
