Key Responsibilities
Operating the buttonhole machine:
- Setting up the machine with the correct thread, stitch type, and buttonhole size based on garment specifications, and accurately feeding fabric through the machine to create precise buttonholes.
Quality control:
- Inspecting each buttonhole for proper stitching, evenness, and size, identifying and correcting any defects.
Thread management:
- Regularly monitoring and replacing thread as needed to maintain consistent stitch quality.
Machine maintenance:
- Performing basic cleaning and lubrication of the buttonhole machine to ensure optimal functionality.
Following production guidelines:
- Adhering to established production rates and quality standards.
Troubleshooting issues:
- Identifying and resolving minor machine malfunctions or stitch irregularities.
Required skills and qualifications
- Experience with sewing machines: Prior experience operating industrial sewing machines, particularly with buttonhole machines, is preferred.
- Hand-eye coordination: Precise control to accurately position fabric on the machine and maintain consistent stitch placement.
