Responsibilities

• Cook food:Bake, fry, grill, and boil food


• Follow recipes: Use recipes to prepare meals


• Maintain cleanliness: Wash dishes, sanitize surfaces, and take out trash


• Ensure food quality: Ensure that food meets quality and presentation expectations


• Meet food safety regulations: Follow food health and safety procedures


• Prepare and plate food: Prepare and present attractive dishes


• Manage food storage: Manage food storage and stock levels


• Liaise with staff: Work closely with other kitchen staff and wait staff


• Prepare ingredients: Chop, slice, and season food

Education

• A cook's key education requirement is typically a High School Diploma or equivalent.
