Description 

The responsibilities for this Job role are as follows:




  • Understand and implement maintenance schedules and procedures for CAT /MWM GAS Generator systems

  • Develop and implement strategies for the efficient running of the CAT Gas generator

  • Monitor and analyze CAT GAS /MWM , identifying areas for improvement

  • Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and recommend preventive and corrective measures to them

  • Coordinate corrective maintenance based on manufacturer’s recommendations, based practices and regulatory requirement

  • Make scheduled outages and equipment shutdown decisions if needed

  • Collaborate with other teammates for the efficient running of the plant

  • Properly understudy any assigned role as the secondary engineer

  • Cost efficient operation of the GAS GENERATOR

  • Analyze and resolve technical issues related to gas generator and diesel fired engine

  • Determines material, manpower and service requirement

  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in gas engine technology and power generation

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship understudy or secondary engineer

  • Effective clarity in communications and relations on within the organization for effective running of the organization



Education / Experience




  • Bachelor's Degree / HND in Mechanical Engineering

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years specifically in gas generator design or related field

  • Proven track record in CAT GAS Generator systems or similar power generation equipment



Skills Required:




  • Possess knowledge of the CAT GAS generators, demonstrating a level of expertise and familiarity of the engine

  • Maintains exceptional professional integrity and unwavering integrity

  • Acquiring intermediate knowledge on the Diesel Fired engine

  • Extensive knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer principles

  • Understanding of mechanical systems and their integration with electrical components

  • Strong planning and problem-solving skills

  • Computer literacy with excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Time management, multitasking and collaborative skills

  • High operational standards and quality control
