Overview of the position
The Import and Export Manager oversees the company's entire import and export process. This includes ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, managing documentation, coordinating logistics, and maintaining relationships with customs officials, freight forwarders, and overseas clients to facilitate the smooth and efficient movement of goods across borders.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the import process
- Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers
- Manage shipments
- Resolve logistical challenges
- Develop and implement systems and policies for documentation processes
- Ensure that project and departmental milestones and goals are met
- Adhere to approved budgets
- Manage subordinate staff

- Expertise in supply chain management
- Familiarity with customs rules and regulations
- Understanding of other related requirements for global shipping

- Ability to expedite solutions with clients, customs officials, and shippers
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in International Trade or a related discipline
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience as an import personnel
- Minimum of 4 years in a managerial or supervisory role as an Import Manager or supervisor
